1. Information We Collect

We collect several categories of information. Account information includes your name, email address, phone number, and password when you register. Profile information includes details you choose to share publicly, such as your photo, location, bio, company, skills, portfolio items, and service listings. Transactional information includes job posts, proposals, contracts, milestones, logged time, payments, and reviews generated as you use the marketplace. Usage information includes technical data such as device and browser type, pages visited, and interactions with Platform features, which helps us understand how the Platform is used.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the marketplace — creating and displaying profiles, matching Clients with Specialists, facilitating proposals and contracts, processing payments and escrow, and enabling messaging and reviews. We also use it to send service notifications about activity relevant to you, to provide customer support, to improve and develop Platform features, to detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as theme and notification settings), and maintain your session. Please note that this demo version of LaunchMarket stores its data — including profiles, jobs, proposals, and messages you create — locally in your own browser rather than on our servers; clearing your browser storage resets the demo. We may also use analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage patterns. You can manage or clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings.

4. Payment Information

Payment card details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processors, who are certified to industry security standards. LaunchMarket does not store full card numbers on its own systems. We retain records of transactions — amounts, dates, parties, and payment status — as needed to operate escrow, calculate fees, resolve disputes, and meet financial reporting obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We share information with other users as needed to operate a marketplace: your public profile, listings, and reviews are visible to others, and Clients and Specialists you work with can see the information relevant to your shared contracts. We share data with service providers who help us run the Platform — payment processors, hosting providers, identity verification services, and analytics vendors — strictly for the purposes described in this policy. We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of LaunchMarket, our users, or the public. If LaunchMarket is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

To protect our contact form from spam and abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks whether a visitor is a person without showing a puzzle. Turnstile collects technical information about your browser and device to make that check. Its use is governed by the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform. After account closure, we retain certain records — such as transaction history, contracts, and dispute records — for as long as necessary to comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymized.

7. Security

We apply administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct inaccurate data, to request deletion of your data, to receive a portable copy of data you provided, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can exercise most of these rights directly through your account settings; for anything else, contact us at hello@designkey.studio. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law, and you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

LaunchMarket serves users in multiple countries, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized by applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses, to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection wherever it is processed.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Platform or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently revised.
